When 81 year old Columbus Thedford enrolled in ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø's Adult Literacy Program, he couldn't read. Now, through classes twice a week with instructor Susie Chapman, he can pick up a book or fill out forms.
A group of Southeast Lauderdale High School juniors and seniors stepped out of their classroom and into a college lab at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø as part of their dual-credit Anatomy and Physiology I course.
"I want to see what's out there and learn more about where I can take my nursing career," Evans said after she stopped at tables manned by recruiters from across the region.
ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø will honor those who have given sacrificially and their families with a Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flag-raising ceremony on Friday, Sept. 19, at 9 a.m. in front of the Ivy-Scaggs Hall circle.
