Open to high school students, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø students, and community members, the competition offers participants the chance to compete in Short Story, Informal Essay, and Poetry categories.

The 5K run and walk, one-mile fun run, and Survivor Street Strut will be Saturday, Oct. 19, with all activities beginning at 8 a.m. at the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Track.
Honoring those who have sacrificed and their families, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø hosted a Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flag-raising ceremony with campus and community turning out in front of Ivy-Scaggs Hall. 
"Why do I donate? Because I can; because I am able to. You hope that one day if you ever need it, somebody will do it for the same reason. Pay it forward, you know," said Denise Wright, one of the many donors who rolled up their sleeves and gave blood.
For most, pursuing a career in the medical field or becoming a touring rock musician is an either-or deal. For ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø alumnus Ted Hennington, these two worlds have blended harmoniously.
